CAROL STREAM, IL, UNITED STATES, August 6, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Brady Bentlin, Maintenance Supervisor at Durham School Services’ Carol Stream, Illinois location, has been selected as a School Transportation News (STN) Garage Star Finalist. Brady is one of ten finalists and was selected from a pool of over 100 nominations. Honorees were selected based on several criteria such as their contributions to industry advancement, leadership, experience, community involvement, and more.

STN’s Garage Stars is an annual recognition that aims to spotlight and honor outstanding school bus maintenance professionals for their contributions and dedication to the student transportation industry, as well as their crucial role in student safety. Brady, along with the other finalists, is featured in the August 2026 issue of STN’s magazine.

Brady started his career in student transportation a little over a year ago in 2025 with Durham School Services first as a technician and then later advanced to his current role as maintenance supervisor in less than a year. He shared that what drew him to the industry was the strong sense of purpose in supporting the community and the opportunity to make positive impacts on student safety.

As a maintenance supervisor, Brady manages two locations and ensures his team of technicians are well-equipped with the parts, tools, resources, and direction needed to maintain the safe and reliable operations of their fleet of buses. Brady is also a double ASE Master Technician and is currently pursuing his next ASE certification to become a triple ASE Master Technician.

“Receiving this award is an honor, and I am truly grateful for the recognition. Thank you to STN and congratulations to my fellow peers as well,” said Brady Bentlin, Maintenance Supervisor, Durham School Services. “After joining student transportation, I have come to have an even greater appreciation for the industry and the important role school bus professionals have in the lives of students. It has been extremely rewarding to see the direct, positive impact of my team and Durham’s role in the safe and reliable transport of our students. I am also grateful for Durham’s support and their commitment in providing us with continuous opportunities to train and develop our professional skills and knowledge. I am truly grateful for the encouragement and guidance of my fellow peers and Durham leadership. Without them, I wouldn't be where I am today. This award motivates me to keep learning, work hard, and put in my all every day.”

“Since joining the Durham team, Brady has shown exceptional leadership, growth, technical expertise, and dedication to supporting both his team and the students we serve,” said Wayne Skinner, Senior Vice President of Fleet and Procurement, Durham School Services. “He leads with a strong commitment to safety and dependability, ensuring his technicians have the guidance, resources, and support they need to keep our fleet operating at the highest standard. Brady’s professionalism, work ethic, and willingness to continue growing in his craft makes him incredibly deserving of this recognition as an STN Garage Star Finalist. In closing, Brady expressed how this recognition has motivated him to continue towards his goal “to keep learning and working hard. I want to become a better person and employee every day. I share the same goal for my coworkers. I take great pride in contributing to them becoming not only better employees, but better people as well.”

He also shared his experience working at Durham, along with advice to those seeking a career in student transportation, stating the following:

“One of the many aspects I've appreciated about Durham is that people are willing to help each other out always. Regardless of one's position within the company, everyone steps up when the team needs it. Different departments work together towards the same goal.
